Well, I’ve got to do something on Saturday nights now that my old stomping grounds are playing classis hits (see post below!)

So, I’ll be hosting a show from the Playboy Mansion this weekend. I know we can’t talk live again just yet but I promise to still bring you a little Sex With Emily each week.

I’ll be posting video and audio from the party. Anything you’d like to see or hear from the mansion? Let me know.
It’ll be good to get out of town and take a road trip to LA. I usually fly but I’m thinking the driving, thinking, breathing and (not) talking time will be good for me.

Remember that scene in Howard Stern’s movie Private Parts when he shows up for work to find his station has suddenly switched formats to country music?

Well, that’s exactly what happened yesterday except I didn’t hear Dwight Yoakam but an oldie (but goodie) Donna Summer’s hit.

Let’s rewind: When I was approached by 106.9 Free Fm in San Francisco to do a live radio show 15 months ago I watched Private Parts again. We had started a homegrown podcast in Elizabeth’s living room and I knew nothing about the radio business. My best friend Andrew suggested now that I’m in radio, I’d better watch it again.

This became our joke. Whenever I’d express concern about my show (i.e. Andrew, when exactly do you think I’ll be able to make a living in radio? So, when do I get a producer? An assistant producer? Do you think it’s an occupational hazzard to NEVER go out on Saturday nights? (I have a SEX show you know, that’s when all the sex is happening!)

Andrew would always say to me, “Well, Em, at least you’ve got a show today, tomorrow you may show up and they’ll be playing Kenny Rogers”

Among other things that Andrew is right about (and there are many) I did get a call along with the rest of the station yesterday that 106.9 Free FM in San Francisco is now a classic hits rock station.

Everyone was shell shocked and today most everyone was looking for work.

I already miss doing the live show because my issues aside (and who doesn’t have some issues?) there’s nothing like live radio, I absolutely love it and the friends I’ve made at the station.

However, I also started this show as a podcaster and will continue to bring you weekly podcasts. In fact, some of you have written that you liked my original Sex With Emily podcasts even better. Most are near the bottom of the listen page www.sexwithemily.com

Plus recent developments – that must remain nameless for now – could mean you’ll be able to hear the show live again very soon (maybe even in a city near you AND me!)

Apparently it’s the size of your humor that matters. Or so says one of the trillion studies I’ve read lately on dating patterns for men and women.

A recent Men’s Health study found that only 12% of men prefer those superficial traits (i.e hotness) and when given the choice of “sense of humor, smarts or sweet demeanor, that trio proves irrestible to more than 75% of their readers. But of the three, sense of humor is most important – because it serves as (men’s) mental matchmacker.”

Another poll found found that women will choose a killer sense of humor over money, height and -you guessed it- size anyday.

So this Saturday night I’ve got a funny guy (no really, a comic so he must get laid) Michael Capozzolla on the show.

Are the Cosmopolitan, Jane and Men’s Health Magazines of the world correct: Should we never tell how many guys we’ve slept with, even when they ask every other day? Should women trade in their knockers for knock-knock jokes? Do men really want foreplay? Really?

I know. I made blogging promises I couldn’t keep. But no more.

Truth be told I love blogging. In fact, I have no less than 162 things to write to you in a day.

But, a few weeks ago because I was trying to post pictures and videos etc and couldn’t figure out why the photos weren’t uploading correct I stopped. Plus the RSS feed was broken,. Plus I tried to edit the 9 segments into 3 longer segments but it didn’t fly with Free Fm. (But if the multi-segments are getting you down, please check out our original Sex With Emily podcasts on our listen page.)

I know, whatever. Boring tech stuff but I needed you to know.

So, I finally figured it out. Contrary to what it seems Sex With Emily is a tiny operation with a really big heart. Size really doesn’t matter except when you’re a perfectionist and trying to do everything just right, and by yourself.

So here’s bunch of pictures and more posts to come. We’re also relaunching our website in a few weeks so you can listen, read, watch and have all the Sex With Emily you want in just a click. Fun….right? Good times ahead my friends, good times.
